We are thrilled to share a remarkable success story from Oregon Bloom. Jared and Mark experienced a phenomenal 35% increase in yields following their transition to LED lighting in their recreational grow facility in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Growers Spotlight
Oregon Blooms
Enhanced Quality: Beyond the yield, Oregon Blooms observed notable improvements in their product – tighter node stacking, denser buds, and enhanced trichome and terpene production.
Flexibility and Efficiency: LEDs offered the flexibility to adjust light spectra for different flowering stages, fine-tuning the cultivation process. This transition also led to energy efficiency, cost savings, and the ability to maintain higher room temperatures with desired humidity levels.
Oregon Roots
Revolutionizing Control and Versatility: The ability to precisely manage light spectrums, enhancing plant growth and quality.
Integrating Advanced Software: Utilizing cutting-edge software for optimal environmental control.
Computerized Efficiency: Modernizing farming practices with sophisticated computerized systems.
Enhanced Plant Quality and Appeal: Noticeable improvements in plant quality, setting new industry standards.
Michigan-HighGradez
Pivoting from high-pressure sodium lights to Sunscape LED fixtures, Aj notes significant improvements in plant growth and intensity, highlighting his commitment to using cutting-edge technology in cultivation.
DogHouse Supreme
Achieved 27% increase in THC test results in the latest Certificate of Analysis for their top shelf recreational cultivation in Salem Oregon
Jon Hudnall and DogHouse Supreme Cannabis – a 5-time Dope Cup award winner- is an Oregon and Washington State-based grower enthusiastic about experimentation and innovation in growing techniques. Hudnall has been working with Sunscape LEDs since their early prototype days and has seen first-hand the benefits of using LED lighting in cannabis cultivation.
In addition to the improved plant growth, Hudnall has also seen a significant decrease in energy costs associated with LED lighting.
“I’ve been able to reduce my electricity usage by up to 70% when compared to traditional HID lighting,” Hudnall adds.
Sunscape LED grow lights were used in a dedicated flowering room at DogHouse. SUNSCAPE’s extensive testing at DogHouse has provided consultation for the company and further data on SUNSCAPE’s products that would not be available from a standard trial.
Sunscape LED has been shown to be an effective grow light for cannabis plants during the flowering stage, even when used by growers who are accustomed to growing larger plants with traditional LED lights. Despite this being only a test of the Sunscape LED light and using clones that were not of the best quality, the results were impressive.
Salem-Innovation-Center
Using the full-spectrum tuning light features and changing the red-light/blue-light ratios, the Salem Innovation Center was able to increase terpene production and dramatically improve quality of product during the last two weeks of flower.
Therapeutic-Alternative
The director of A Therapeutic Alternative was initially skeptical of making the transition to LED technology, but she also saw the potential benefits of moving to a more cost effective and environmentally friendly solution.
She was pleased to see that the Sunscape LED light produced a significantly higher yield than the HPS light. In the trial, a single HPS PL 1000-watt light was replaced with a SUNSCAPE LED 6 bar unit operating at 660 watts. After harvest, the director reported 1.79 pounds grown under the SUNSCAPE LED lights vs. only 1.20 pounds under the HPS light – an increase of 0.59 pounds (a total dry weight increase of 45.49%).
Great Spirits
The Great Spirit launched in Oklahoma in 2021, during the height of the pandemic. Just in couple of years, the company has become the premium brand of cannabis in the great state of Oklahoma.
They have achieve 3.5 lbs per light in a double stacked flower room and consistently grown top shelf quality flower.
City Slicker Genetics
At the City Slicker grow site, there were an impressive 3000 watts of HPS and CMH lighting in a 4’x8’ canopy. Since this was a custom setup, City Slicker took 2 of our 4-bar SOLO lights and one of SOLO Pro 5 bar lights and, because of our flagship modular design, he was able to install each light bar into a 4’X8’ installation, maximizing the space available.
Even with using lights that were several years old, SUNSCAPE SOLO lights from 2019, the results were amazing. By combining organic feeds, hand watering, and added CO2, the renownded strains Mango Chow Mein and Galactic rebel produced an impressive 13 lbs of dried, cured flower within 4’X8′ canopy, utilizing just 1800 watts of power.
To put that in perspective: that is astounding 184 grams per square foot, 3.27 grams per watt.
After achieving such astounding results, the Salem Innovation Cultivation Center got seeds from CitySlicker Genetics for the Chow Mein strain to see if we could replicate the results. Since then we have noticed that the strain seems to love light. We are now pushing the same strain at 60 DLI (usable light) to push yield and quality.
